Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's decision to cut 22,000 part-time and temporary state jobs and reduce the salaries of many permanent employees won't affect California State University employees and has not had an impact in the Inland Empire so far, officials said.

With no end in sight over the battle to approve a month-late budget, the governor Thursday said he would take the steps to "avoid a full-blown crisis and keep our state moving forward."
