PHELAN - An assortment of exotic animals, already far from their native homes in Africa, Asia and other far-flung lands, have been evacuated again - this time from their Big Bear Valley home to an animal sanctuary in Phelan.

Randy Miller is owner of Predators in Action. He trains animals - lions, tigers, bears - to play-fight for films and TV. With the Sawtooth Complex Fire bearing down on his facility, he said he had no choice but to pack the animals into trucks and leave.
