Campaign volunteers are hastily banding together to educate 29,600 voters on an upcoming $108 million bond pivotal for the expansion of San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning. Since the hospital opened in 1951, about 80,000 people have moved into the burgeoning region. Many of the cities in the San Gorgonio Memorial Health Care District Calimesa, Beaumont, Banning, Cherry Valley, Cabazon and the Morongo Indian Reservation are experiencing housing booms.

And as the population grows, so must the hospital, say supporters.
