Fifteen underprivileged children who attend Sunflower Child Care on the city's west side got a big surprise Thursday.

The kids were showered with presents gathered by officers from the California Highway Patrol. Their families were also given gift cards to Wal-Mart, Cardenas Markets, and Stater Bros. Markets to buy food and clothing.
