Summary
Proposition 10, which would fund the development of renewable energy and help consumers purchase alternative-fuel vehicles, has a certain green appeal. And after reading the details, it leaves us feeling green - green as in queasy.
The measure would provide $3.4 billion in rebates to help consumers buy vehicles that achieve high fuel economy or spew less in the way of greenhouse gases than conventional engines. It would also earmark $1.25 billion for research and production of solar and other renewable energy technology.
