In what has become a nearly monthly occurrence, a new park on San Bernardino's north end was given the name of a longtime civic figure.
Freddy Spellacy, who is credited as a chief pioneer in the growth of citizens' neighborhood associations in the north end in the 1990s, was honored with a quaint little park on Oct. 6. The dedication was attended by a handful of city leaders and was greeted with a traditional ceremony by a local chapter of the Native Sons of the Golden West, a California nativist group.See the full content of this document
