We're glad to see Arrowhead Regional Medical Center take on the local shortage of psychiatrists by starting its own residency program.
Dr. Dev GnanaDev, Arrowhead's medical director, said the medical center would create 16 residency positions and fill them with about four graduating interns each year. The interns would work not only at Arrowhead, but also at Patton State Hospital and the county's Department of Behavioral Health, both of which will help fund the program.
