Summary


When Colton resident Jeanny Velasquez graduated from high school in 2000, she had no career goals in mind, and knew nothing more except that she would be the first in her family to graduate from high school and attend college.

Velasquez heard about a Job Training Partnership Act program provided through the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program in Redlands. JTPA was replaced by the Workforce Investment Act in 2000, and though it continues to exist as a WIA program, it was renamed Operation MONEY at CRY-ROP by student participants in 2003.
