Summary


Whether you decide to be an educator or a politician, most select public service for the sake of helping people and improving their community. You think long and hard about your ability to make a positive difference. You say to yourself that I can do a better job than that person or I want to be like this or that person who came before me. In your deep thought process, you have dream-like visions of creating programs that you think will provide people with the opportunity to get better jobs, to receive better services, to get a better education, and to assist them discovering a better way of life. You look forward to working with your colleagues in a collegial way to positively discuss the pros and cons of the great programs you envisioned.

You love the fact that these other people have the same devotion as you to public service. You eat lunch with them, have dinner with them, and have supported some of their causes in the past. Now, you get to work with them to create a better civil society.
