7:24 A.M.: Strong Storm Forecast Thursday

Summary


Forecasters say a storm heading for the area Thursday may be the strongest September storm Southern California has seen in about 20 years, but how much rain it will bring is still uncertain.

The National Weather Service said this storm, similar to ones that occurred in 1986 and in 1963, could bring strong winds and unseasonably cold temperatures. There could be some heavy rainfall for some areas and maybe some snow above 6,000 feet, said forecaster Stan Wasowski.
