FORT IRWIN - Restructuring its forces and strategy to cope with a drastically changing world, the U.S. Army might increase annual troop maneuvers while enlarging its key training unit at Fort Irwin - the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment.
The potential changes, which will be outlined in a draft environmental-impact report, call for increasing the number of yearly maneuvers from 10 to 12 and stationing anywhere from 690 to 3,400 more soldiers at this desert military post, said Col.
