SAN BERNARDINO Richard Dysart arrived at the remote stretch of San Timoteo Canyon about 6 p.m. on Oct. 4, 2003. As darkness fell, he saw a decomposed leg protruding from under a decrepit couch in an area of the canyon enveloped by thick vegetation and orange groves.
