proposed North Lake project area of San Bernardino. When I, other ladies or young girls are walking alone in our neighborhood, we are constantly approached as prostitutes. This is happening as early as 7 a.m. and continues throughout the day and evening.

I walk my children to and from school and their bus stop. On my way back home on a trip to the corner market, men in cars will ask me if I want a date. Sometimes, they just follow me real slow until I turn around and yell, "Quit following me!'

Something needs to be done, but what?

The police can only patrol so much, and then, the prostitutes move to another area and eventually are back.

Brothels? It's an age-old idea. Stiffer fines or publicized arrest of prostitutes and johns is the answer.

All I know is that I'm tired of being these unwelcomed pursuer...
