Grand Jury Outlines Problems at Sb County Coroner's Office

Summary


The San Bernardino County Coroner's Office needs to increase its staff, install a new refrigerator and freezer for body storage, and consider an in-house body transport system to operate more efficiently, according to grand jury findings released Friday.

Only nine of 10 authorized positions are filled at the Coroner's Office . Of those, only seven deputy coroners investigate deaths, while one is a training officer and the other was recently hired, the San Bernardino County grand jury reported.
