SAN BERNARDINO - If Alaska's Dimond West All-Star player Mason Anderson hadn't made it to the Little League Western Regional Tournament, he would be celebrating a first-place trophy with his hockey team back home.

But if the 12-year-old hadn't given up hockey to try out baseball for a year, his father wouldn't have had the chance to visit a place he hasn't seen in almost 35 years.
