TUCSON, Ariz. Kelvim Escobar gave up three runs and six hits on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox, and he couldn't be happier.

It was Escobar's first appearance in a Cactus League game this spring, after recovering from a tight shoulder. Escobar also fought through a slight case of the flu, knowing that if he didn't start Tuesday, he probably would not have been ready to join the starting rotation by the beginning of the season.
