Summary
What a breath of fresh air was experienced as I opened The Sun on May 12 to see a guest commentary by San Bernardino City Councilman Rikke Van Johnson. This happened the morning after I viewed a rebroadcast of the May 4 City Council meeting, which left me completely disenchanted and even disgusted with the machinations that were brought forth by certain members of the City Council and the city attorney.
Attending that meeting in the audience were many members of the city's Fire Department, very vocal in their displeasure at the possibility of the staffing of only three positions on each fire truck due to the present economic crisis, as opposed to the usual four personnel to each truck.
