The U.S. House of Representatives has condemned the unknown thieves who stole a memorial cross from a remote spot in San Bernardino County last spring.
The Mojave Cross had been at the center of a long-running legal dispute over the propriety of using religious iconography on public land. In May, soon after the release of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that favored the cross and its backers, the cross was cut and stolen from its perch atop Sunset Rock in the Mojave National Preserve.See the full content of this document
