Colton School Board Votes to Extend Terms an Additional Year

COLTON - The Colton Joint Unified School District Board of Education voted 4-2 Thursday, with board member Kent Taylor absent, and board members Robert Armenta and Pat Haro dissenting, to extend their terms from five to six years.

According to district officials, the move will save money next year when the next school board election was slated to take place. Thursday's vote could push the 2010 election back to 2011, officials said.
