Summary
Redlands (1-0, 2-2) at Whittier (1-1, 2-2) Time: 1 p.m. Radio: KTIE-AM (590) Last meeting: Redlands defeated Whittier 46-33 in 2003. Last week: Redlands defeated La Verne 37-31; Whittier lost to Occidental 42-13.
REDLANDS OUTLOOK: The Bulldogs had to rally for 23 fourth- quarter points last week to pull out the victory over La Verne, and in the process they lost QB Brian Sapp for the rest of the season with a broken collarbone. But junior Nick Brown came off the bench to help lead Redlands' rally, so it appears the Bulldogs' offense which is averaging 35 points and 435 yards per game will remain potent. Brown still has senior RB Les Simon (89 carries, 514 yards, eight TDs) to hand the ball to, and receivers Justin Wilcox (15 receptions, 325 yards, three TDs), Charles Coleman (13 receptions, 187 yards, one TD) and Alex Ballard (10 receptions, 146 yards) to throw to. The dilemma for Redlands is how to improve a defense that has allowed an average of 39 points, 543 yards and 27 first downs per game.See the full content of this document
