It may be seven games into the season but Cal State San Bernardino men's basketball coach Jeff Oliver is still experimenting with his lineup. The Coyotes don't play again until Dec. 29 so he will have few days to settle on a starting five. Oliver admits he has preferred going with whomever is producing at the time.

No. 21 Cal State (6-1) settled for a split at the High Desert Classic in Las Vegas over the weekend. The Coyotes opened with an impressive 76-55 win over unranked West Texas A&M Saturday but failed to hold a 10-point second-half lead in losing to No. 5 Western Washington 73-69 late Sunday.

Thus far Oliver has been most pleased with his trio of big men 6- foot-9 senior Chris Davis, 6-7 senior Joe Dural and 6-7 senior Kaneem Pelt. He has rotated those players in and out with Pelt and Dural getting the majority of the playing time early but Davis has made great strides in the last few games and is getting a second look.
