Traffic Collision Causes Sig Alert in Diamond Bar
A traffic collision caused California Highway Patrol officers to issue a 45-minute Sig Alert this morning on the transition road from the 57 to the 60 freeway. The collision, between two pickup trucks, happened at 6:50 a.m., said a CHP dispatcher. The Sig Alert was issued about 7:15 a.m. and officials closed the two left lanes at the southbound 57 connector to the westbound 60.
Man Found Shot in Ontario Parking Lot
A man was found shot to death in the parking lot of an apartment complex Friday morning. Ontario police officers responded to the 2500 block of E. Riverside Drive about 8:10 a.m. after reports of shots fired in the area, said Sgt. David McBride.
Update: Ontario Murder Victim Identified
The man who was found shot to death in the parking lot of an Ontario apartment complex Friday morning has been identified. Vincent Monterey Mejia, 33, of West Covina was pronounced dead in the 2500 blockof E. Riverside Drive. Mejia had been shot several times.

A 57-year-old Covina man died Friday after he collided with two other vehicles on the transition road from the southbound 57 to the westbound 60 freeways in Diamond Bar. The traffic collision happened about 6:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol incident information page.

A Redondo Beach man accused of killing a popular Manhattan Beach bartender and dumping the body off Highway 330 was ordered held on murder charges. Judge Annemarie Pace listened to witness testimony at a hearing Thursday in San Bernardino Superior Court and ruled that sufficient evidence existed for Tony Lopez Perez to be tried for the death of Cori Desmond.
