Man Shot to Death Outside Lodge
SAN BERNARDINO - A 21-year-old man found critically wounded near an Elk's Lodge has died, police said Sunday. Richard Lee Hamilton, 21, of San Bernardino was found shot at 2:21 a.m. Sunday just outside the front entrance to the lodge in the 1000 block of North Mount Vernon Avenue.
SAN BERNARDINO - Although the room buzzes with kids - on computers, playing pool, just chatting - it's the unmistakable calm that is most telling. "It's just a place, somewhere I like to come after school," said Kyshia Anderson, 13. "It's better than hanging out in the streets."

State Allows Landlords to Evict Gun Offenders
Help is on the way for landlords dealing with problem tenants in certain parts of the state. One of five anti-gang bills Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed last week targets tenants keeping weapons in their homes illegally.

RIALTO - A major shift in the city's most ambitious development project could get the OK from the City Council tonight. The council will consider a new concept for Renaissance Rialto and tell the developers, a team of the Lewis Group and Ross Perot Jr.'s Hillwood, to move forward with more specific plans.

7:16 A.M.: Dense Fog and Drizzle in the Ie This Morning
Dense fog and drizzle are expected in the Inland Empire this morning, along with some moderate winds in the San Bernardino Mountains, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters issued a dense fog advisory to last until 9 a.m. and urged motorists to slow down and leave plenty of distance in front of their vehicles. Visibility could be reduced to less than a quarter-mile in some areas.
7:18 .M.: Chino Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash Near Running Springs
RUNNING SPRINGS -- A Chino man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon near Running Springs. David Lee Gabele, 78, was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson north on Highway 18 at 3:45 p.m. when he veered off the road. The motorcycle slid down the side of the road.
7:20 A.M.: Woman Died in Rollover Crash in Baker
BAKER -- A Nevada woman died in a rollover car crash Sunday, coroner's officials said. Sheila A. Rollins, 46, of Pahrump, Nev., was driving a 1970 Chevy 2500 pickup south on Highway 127 north of Baker Boulevard at 7:16 a.m. when she drove off the road and her truck flipped.
7:24 A.M.: Hesperia Pedestrian Killed
HESPERIA -- A 30-year-old Hesperia man walking across Bear Valley Road was struck by a car and killed late Sunday. Jayson Patrick Porter was crossing the road east of Mariposa Road at 10:14 p.m. when someone driving a 2007 Ford F-150 east on Bear Valley struck him, coroner's officials said.

SAN BERNARDINO -- St. Bernardine Medical Center was ranked the top medical facility in California for overall orthopedic care, according to a national health study released today. The 10th Annual HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study named St. Bernardine's among the top 5 percent orthopedic services and joint replacement among medical centers nationwide.
FONTANA -- Homicide investigators today continued tracking down dozens of people who were at a Sierra Lakes party when two men were gunned down. No one was in custody and a motive hadn't been confirmed, but police say some people mentioned that party crews were at the event.

LOMA LINDA -- As Loma Linda University builds its new 150,000- square-foot Centennial Complex, the largest state-of-the-art educational facility on campus, you can get a first-hand look at what's being built. The complex, slated to be finished in spring 2009, will include new classrooms, two 100-seat amphitheaters and more than 100 workstations with labs for dental, medical, physical therapy and graduate students.
10:27 A.M.: Dedicate Memorial Trees, Benches, Rose Gardens at New Grand Terrace Park
GRAND TERRACE -- Residents can dedicate a tree, bench or rose garden in memory of someone special at the city's new pocket park. Plaques will be engraved for the benches. Etched granite blocks will be used for all other dedications.
11:25 A.M.: Rialto City Leaders Consider Change to Renaissance Rialto Development
RIALTO -- The City Council meets Tuesday to talk about a revised plan for Renaissance Rialto, a 1,500-acre planned development along the 210 Freeway extension. The new plan has about 2,000 fewer homes than the original, and more industrial space.
12:00 P.M.: Banning Superintendent Resigns
BANNING -- Banning Unified School District Superintendent Kathleen McNamara is leaving after being with the district for 21 years. McNamara said part of her departure is the direction the new board may take after this November's election.
